Poker deserves a second act
Online poker lost its magic. Showdown brings the soul back: 1v1, supercharged with action cards.

Showdown Manifesto
You never lose the feeling of playing Texas hold'em: the peek at your hole cards, the anticipation of the flop, the drama of the river. The thrill of victory, the agony of defeat.
Every decision weighs heavily. Each bet, call and raise is a moment in itself, part of a story unfolding.
There's math involved, but also timing, ego, fear and pure levelling. That feeling is what helped fuel the online poker boom.
And that's why what has happened in recent years is such a tragedy.
Poker deserves better.
Online poker has been optimised into boredom
Online poker didn't die, but it did get sterilised.
The edges got extracted by solvers, study culture and real-time assistance. Games became flooded with bots.
It's hard to feel passion at a table that might be half scripts.
The poker industry has been forced to admit, repeatedly, that the integrity fight is real. GGPoker confiscated $1.2m from 13 accounts in one crackdown. A separate incident involved someone exploiting a vulnerability for nearly $30k. And there's so much more.
Those wounds never really heal.
Players want poker to feel real again.
That's what we're building with Showdown.
Poker with added strategy
Poker was always a strategy game, and the best strategy games are expressive.
Trading card games have spent decades perfecting deep, layered experiences through deckbuilding and metagaming. Hearthstone. Magic the Gathering. Pokemon. The whole genre. They're arenas for outplaying your opponent.
So we took our love of poker and our passion for TCGs and asked ourselves: What if poker had action cards?
What if Texas Hold'em could keep its soul, but gain the strategic depth of a TCG?
The result is poker with designed chaos.

Showdown is poker on steroids
Games of Showdown are 1v1. Short, sharp bursts that last about 10 minutes.
You build a deck using action cards from six classes and create your edge.
You can still bluff, read and apply pressure - but now you can also outplay through an additional layer of strategy.
Chips are put in or taken out of the pot based on the action cards you play. First to 100 points wins.
What do the action cards actually do? Some generate new cards for your hand or manipulate the board. Others steal chips, lock cards and cause all manner of chaos.
Think you've got a great hand on the flop? Watch your opponent destroy it before you can blink. Then play back at them to take the lead again.
You play. You clash. You adapt. You win. You lose. You go again.
The format is built for decisive matches - a crisp, competitive loop you'll want to repeat.

We're bringing new life to online poker
When we say we're building a fresh competitive format, it's a response to a real gap: people still love poker, but they don't love what online poker has become.
Showdown is a bet that the next boom comes from making the game feel alive again.
Built by a former Hearthstone #1 ranked player and a team obsessed with competitive card games, we've spent 12 months in alpha refining every detail.
Now we're in open beta. You can play for real stakes.
We're building a new pillar of competitive card games, a world where "poker player" and "TCG player" stop being separate tribes.
Showdown is a game you can pick up instantly, then spend years mastering. A game where you make your own luck.
